About Us

We provide advocacy and support to our members and their families.  We encourage each person to be as self-sufficient as possible.  We promote democracy to our members.

We work with state and national legislators to encourage promotion of relevant bills and laws that will further enable blind people to be productive, functioning individuals.

To the community, we offer education and information on blindness and accessibility issues that are of concern to people who are blind or visually impaired.  We work with and offer support, especially, to people who are faced with losing their sight.

We are a nonprofit organization.  Our fund-raising helps to purchase adaptive equipment for blind and visually impaired people in need, sponsor members to attend the state and national convention, legislative seminars and other ACB related events, fund a scholarship program for a blind student each year, sponsor various trips for our members and assist the community in education and adaptive equipment needs as we can.
